Our married life is like that now. Every now and then there comes what must be a sort of honeymoon feeling, a renewed consciousness of intimsoy, or re- sponsibility each for the other, and a revelation of how best we can help each other, which is an inspiration for the future. Then we go out again to our daily tasks -1 to my girls and schools, be to his rails and men-illumined and Swatow, Tsingtau and Tientsin-Kwangtah for Shanghai. lifted up. It is like the high place where Moses went up to worship, bringing back encour agement and spiritual energy. These moments pass, yet the effect of them glorifies all our tiresome, common acts for many days.
Don did do right of course. That was the apex of my career— to have saved his soul alive. And thed his apex-the presidency. But the time of revealment is not yet." The Ladies' Home Journal.'
