A considerable business has been transacted during the past week in a few of our local stocks, mooly in Cantons, Docks, Wharves Bud Cements, and the. market olores firm generally.

Fara Rubber is quoted from Loudon at 3/8 per 1b. and the market for shares closed steady in London yesterday.

Ber Silver is 27 18/16 per oz for ready and 28 1/18 per oz for 'forward delivery steady.

Exchange on London opened this morning at 2/-1/8 T.T.

Binks:-Hongkong and Shang- hai Banks have sellers at $805; the London price has declined to £81/-/- middle..

Marino Insurances. Unions arO

obtainable at $795 and Cantons have improved from $308 to $325 on the announcement of an inter- im dividend of $18 per share payable on the 21st instant. North Chinas have buyers at Tis. 135 and Yangtozen at $190, Ex 73.

Fire Insurances.-China Fires have declined from $149 to a sell- ing quotation of $148 and Hong- kong Fires are offering at $358.

Shipping: There are buyers of Hongkong Canton and Macao Steamboats at $274. China and Manilas at $0 and Star Ferries at $52 whilst there are sellers of Douglas's at $41, and Indos at $95 after sales at the rate. Shell Transports are quoted from Lon- don at 118/ middle.

Refineries:China Sugars are in request at 8105 and Luzons have sellers at $37.
