Our market has been much quieter during the past week, due is a great measure to the still very unsettled state of affairs in Europe and in North China.
Para Rubber is quoted from London today at 3/5 per lb. with the tone of the share market strong. There has been a fair amount of liquidation of both Dollar and sterling stocks in the Straits during the past week, at declining rates, but at the close the market seems to have steadied up a little...
Bar Silver ia 27.11-16 per oz, for ready and 27.7-8 per oz. for forward delivery, steady.
Exchange on London opened this morning at 2/- T.T.
Banks: Hongkong and Shang- hai Banks are still quiet with sollers at $805; London quotes „£81/10/- middle.
Marine Insurances :-Unions have changed hands in small lots at $795, Cantona are easier with Bellers at $310 and buyers at $308. North Chinas could pro- bably be placed at Tls. 133, and Yangtezes at $190 ex 73.
Fire Insurances-China Fires are still offering at $149 and Hongkong Fires at $356.
