The Chairman in proposing the adoption of the roport and accounts said he need not enlarge on the report except to say that it was considered a very satia factory one and the credit balance had been increased from $235.03 to $300.00 They were fortun- ate in having fine weather this year for their flower show, and the gite receipts want to show that if they had been fortunate; in having fine weather in other years the receipts might bave shown increases. They would notice, of course, that the money prizes hast been reduced from three dollars and two dollars "to two dollars and one dollar and that fact had undoubtedly helped the financial side of the show. He thought that the members would probably agree that prizes of two dollara and one dollars were sufficient. They still looked for the support of the public which they hoped to obtain so as to have the show once again suc Cossful. He hoped they would go on doing all that had to be done to attract the public in regard to the quality and quantity of ox-motion was carried. hibite and then they could only hope as youre wont on that thore would be increased interest in the show and that it would show fur- ther development He had much pleasure in proposing the adop tion of the report and accounts.

Mr. Gibbs said that he did not think that the meeting could close without passing a vote of thanks to Mr. Barton for the in- terest and trouble he had taken in the Society. He had been President for six years and he was one of the mainstays of the Society,. He suggested that that meeting should pass a vote of thanks to Mr. Barton. Goldringesconded and the motion Japan was carried unanimously.

President Retires. The Chairman said that it was a matter of great regret to him that this was the last occasion on which he would preside at the annual meeting, and he would take that opportunity of wishing the Horticultural Society groat success in the future. It was necessary owing to his departure to elect a new President and he deferentially tuggested that they could not find a better man for the position, on account of the arduous work he bad done for the Society, thin Mr Gibbs. Only for the good work he had done the show, could not have attained the sus cess it did. To had very much pleasure in proposing that Mr ANGLO-AMERICAN Gibbs be elected President of the Society.

Mr Harris sooonded the pro-¦ position and said that Mr Barton would be a very hard man to fol- low, and he had much pleasure in seconding the election of Mr Gibbs.

The resolation was carried un-, animously.

The Chairman also proposed that Mr Gibbs be elected as Hon. Secretary.

Mr Hoggarth seconded, and the resolution was carried un- opiniously,

The Committee was elected as follows:-Mra. Ede, Mrs. Stabb, Mrs. Newall, Messrs. Hoggarth, Howell, L.N. Laefe, Choa Po Sies, P.W. Goldring and Tulcher.
