In order to encourage the build- ing of a dry-dook at Boston, the White Star, Cunard and Ham burg-American: Companies have signißed their willingness to pay a subaidy of £10,000 a year for 20 years if a dry-dook is built at Boston that will accommodate their largest steamers. The dry-
