News was received in Shanghai on the 18th the Patro clus arrived at Tairen at 1a.m. that morning, escorted by the Monmouth, and that the reason for the delay in her arrival was due to an accident to her main ́ shaft. There is no damage what- over to cargo, says the North China Daily News" but tempor- ary repairs to the shafting will have to be effected at Tairen, necessitating a short delay there.

The attention of mariners is call- ed to harbour. Notification No. 15 of 1912, which gives notice that the wreck of a lorcha, with masta showing above water, lies sunken on the Shanghai side of the fair- way, about 600 ft. from the upper buoy of the Norddeutscher Lloyd's head and stern moorings, in the 11th section of the harbour. The wreck is marked during the the day by a flag, and at night by a red light with a white light vertically below it.
