WE BEG TO ANNOUNCE
that we can now manufacture on our premises the new Kryptok Invisible bifocal Lens,
The old style of cement bifocals with their disfiguring and annoying dividing line has been supplanted by a new lens with two fool, the upper portion of the glass for distance and the lower for reading, ground from one single piece of glass.
You who wear two pairs of glasses may now use one pair instead. No one can tell that you wear bifocals. No cement to blister; no thin segments to lose off."
Call and inspect this line. We grind Kryptoks in regular or toris form.

We are pleased to note that the proposed Hongkong installation is to be on the market for open tender. The uses of wireless and ita capacity for work are growing daily, and there are very evident signs that, possibly within the next two or three years, wire- less systems will be cheaper in operation than cables. Gradu- ally the faults attached to wire less operation are being eli- minated, and we "may eventually hope to see them, save in very extreme circumstances, obviated altogether. The advent of wire less will be welcomed in this colony not only as a convenience. to the vast volume of shipping which frequents the port but because in course of time an efficient service and competition with the cable companies will tend to ohenpen telegraphic oharges. Those charges have been and are still a sovers handicap to the promotion of business.

The Boycott and the Ordinance. The more we ponder over the present boycott, the more are we inclined to come back to our orginal view, expressed in this column some little time ago, name-, ly, that the Chinese opposition or
boycott of the cars is merely a
spontaneous expression of their dieapproval of the Tramway Com real organization behind it. Some people apparently find a certain fascination in looking for all sorts of out-of-the-way reason for And yet, insects of that size, which we could see the continuance of the fix before they made their meals off us, would be infinite-in which the Tramway Com pany find themselves, and make ly less dangerous than the little pests with which we confusion worse confounded by are familiar.
you would leave, without stand-pany's notion and that there is no ing on the order of your going!

Chinese Policy.
It would seem, from the latest news of the renowed negotiations. between the Chinese Government And the Sextuple Financial Group, that a loan of twenty-five millions. sterling is in a fair way of being arranged on a basis mutually satiefactory to all concerned, ex- cepting, perhaps, Mr. Criep. The fact is the more interesting in view of a very lengthy telegram sant a fortnight age to the Presid- ent by Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Ac cording to the precis of the telegram which appeared in the Chinese Press at the time, Dr. Sun Yat-sen was repre- sented as counselling the Presid ent to enter upon hostilities ngainst Russia and to make a large issue of Government paper money in order to supply the sinews of war." The report was Bo palpably absurd that we're garded it as pure invention care- fully calculated to feed the war faver from which the Cantonese especially appeared to be suffer- ing so badly. We now learn that Dr. Sun Yat-sen did in fact offer advice on the subject to the President in tolo
gam running to many thousands of words, but the message sonroe- ly bears the construction given to it by the precis that came under our notice a fortnight ago. The sam, and substance of Dr. Sun's lengthy message ie: “ Make | your financial arrangements first, and then fight Russia, if neces- sary, to assert China's sovereignty in Mongolia."
If this is the policy to be preached by the principal leaders of public opinion in China, it can only serve to make the Sextuple Group all the more osutious concerning the terms upon which they advance money to China.
