Foreign

The German vessels which called at British ports also for outnumber. ed those of any other foreign country. In the list of British ports, London stands at the head, with Liverpool next, those being the only two to reach eight figures for tonnage either in regard to arrivals or departures. Vessels which entered coastwise "in 1911 amounted to 61,508,897, and those which cleared to 82,098,225. The trade between Great Britain and Treland shows- a slight increase. The number. of vessels on the Register in the United Kingdom is returned as 51,072, a decrease of 18 on 1910: and of 117 on 1909, but the tonnage has increased.
