Business in local stocks has continued on small scale throughout the week under 'ro- "view, although ratos have been

Rubber is quoted from London at 6 per 1b, which is, an advanco of 1.1-4d. on Inst wook's quotation. Afu'r amount of busi- nons has been put through both in dollar and sterling shares, and the market in London yesterday olosed stendy..

Bar Silvor is quoted at 29,1-1ßd. per oz for ready and 28.13-16 for forward delivery steady; the rise appears to be due to Indian speculation on account of good crop prospects thoro.

Exchange-on London opened lo-day at 2/1-8 TT.

Banks. Hongkong and Shang- hai Banks have sold at $827 1-2 and $825, and the market closes with sellers at the latter rato and buyers at $820; the dooline in the value of this stock can be attributed to the rise in Exchange; the London price is

Fire Insurances-Hongkong Fires koop steady at $354. China. Fires have buyers at $132, but there are no Shares obtainable except at an advance."

Shipping-Hongkong, Cauton and Mao Stormboats close with buyers at 20 aftor sules it 26.1-2. China in Manilas are a strong] market with buyors at 8.3-4. Star Forries can be placed at $41 and Douglas's at 820. Shell Transports have been done at 100/0 and 107/6, the London Market closing with sellors at 110-for "beurer," shares.

Refinerios, China Sugars are woak market at $116, Luzons aftor sales at $33.3-4 and $34 nro obtainable at the latter rate.

Mining-Tronols aro quoted from London at 74/6 middle Raubs have declined to $3 sellers; the out-put for the four wooks ending 12th instant was 824 ozs for 5120 tons of ore orushed. Clinquo Engineerings havo soilers at 330. Pahang consolidateds are quoted from London at 90 middle. Langkats are much stronger with lyers offering TI, 621.
