A tablet and ensign in momory of those who lost their lives in the wreck of the oruiser Bedford has boon placed in St. George's Chapel R.N. Barçaoks, Chatham. Admiral Sir Richard Poore, Bart., Commandor-in-Chief at the Nore; Commodore S. Erskine, RN. Barracks, Chatham; and a large number of officers and mon wore prosent at the dediention, which was performed by the Rev. W. McL, Tod, M.A., chaplain. The tablet bears the following inscrip- tion:This tablet and ensign, presented by the ladies of Bod-Marseilles, Havre and Hamburg, &c. fordshire to II.M.S. Bedford, wore Marseilles, London & Antwerp via Singapore,&o. placed in this church in memory Naples, Gonon, Algiors, Gibraltar, Southampton of those who lost their lives in that ship off Quolpert Island on Aug. 21, 1010." Then follows the list of individual names. The chaplain delivered a suitable dia- course from the text "Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong."
