Sympathy with Titanic Victims,

The following is a resolution passed at a special meeting of the | Executive Committee of the Im- perial Maritime League held on Thursday, April 25, 1912-

The Excentive Committed of the Imperial Maritime League desire to express their inost pro- found sympathy with the fola- tives of the victims of the Titanic' disaster, and their deep admira- tion for the conduct upon that oc casion alike of those who perished and of those who happily surviv od.

The Committee further desiro to point out to the nation that an incomparably greater catastrophe, involving the destruction of a vast part of the British mercantile marine, the consequent loss of many thousands of lives, and the starvation of the United Kingdom;: has been rendered absolutely cer- tain, under oxisting conditions, whenever the armed merchantuon of Germany attack our Merchant

navy.

The Committee observe that' the responsibility for this situn tion and for the nations! misery thus impending rests absolutely with the present Government, which criminally neglects all warn- inge, including that given it by 138 British Admirals, and on- were that it is "considering

STEAMSHIP CO. while it refrains from taking any.

Far

monsures to avert the peril."

The Committee hope that the Sailing Date present awokoning of public |attention may be no directed as to force the, Government to fulfil its primary duty to the State in regard to war, us well
