The Female Formi Divlace

The old type of beauty was the result of careful study of every line of the figure and not the careless one-sided development in yogue to-day, In designing human figures I have often been struok with the similarity to-day between men and women, so that it is impossible, to be true to models. The result is that artists and seniptors now have to rely more on their or ative faculty for no athletio girl could possa Venus or Psycho. The models employed by artists in England, and especially in London, are not in any sense athletic. They are of a partiolar type, and as they depart from that so doos their chance of employment diminish." Well, it in all very end, but we imagine that wilful woman; who always delights in having her own way, will not abandon her physical exorcises, even though she sacrl- fices the highest ideals of Graek art in so doing.

There are several important directions in which the policy of the new ad- ministration.must be jointly and rosolutely guided. Perhaps, the chief of them is education. It is those who are now the young men of China from whom their country must seek its salvation. It is necessary, therefore, that they ahould be adequately equipped to fulfil their great destiny, and it is only by education that such equipment may be supplied..
