A long statement was made by Hie Bxcellency the Governor on the subject of wireless telegraphy at the meeting of the Legislative Council reported in this issue. The colony is leeply interested in. this important question, and it will be noted that Hie Excellency has not allowed the grass to grow. under his feet. At every avail- ablo opportunity His Excellency lina faithfully represented the wishes of the colony to the. Home authorities; but, truly, the wheels of the gods grind slowly, and it will be disappoint- ing to many to learn that the anticipations of Hongkong in re- gard to. wireless have made but small progresa. As explained by His Excellency, Hongkong wait ed for the decision of the Im- perial Conference on the proposed Empire chain of wireless. That decision, which practically con atitates the law on the subject, is now well-known.
