The death rate for Mukdencity is about twenty to thirty por day.

The Government realized tho

temptation which the snow offered for liding bodies. The authorities hired about a thousand largo carts from farms. These, after over three weeks' work, had cleared out almost all the snow from the main city, and then there camo another tremendous fall and they are still clearing it.

A great thay has now set in and the bodies buried in snow outside the city are becoming exposed.

The Government is urging tho people to destroy the rats.
