At 6.p.m. on Saturday, the fire brigade was summoned to No. 214, Des Vicax Road (No.2, Boog Hing treet). The house was fully abl. 1 on the rrival of the brigade and aftertwo hours hard work, the flames were got under control, The buildlog contained matting and guany bage and we owned by Mak Pop Co. The costats of the place were totally destroyed, molly by fire, and the rest by water. The fire. men had the greatest difficulty in reaching the top floor, where. The fire is supposed to have originated through the upfetilog of an oil-lamp which was left burning on the premises. The property was catered by Insurance for the aums of $8,000 and $1,000 with the Man Os Insurance Ca and for $5,000 at the Lim Yick Insurance Co.
