Commander George-S-Salisbury, Command- log the United Sintas ship Wilmington, now in Hongkong barbour, left Hongkong to-day for Manila en route to take up his duties as Gore erpor of the island of Guan. On leaving the Wilmington to-day to take passage in the Tean for Manila, the retting Commander was com 25plimented by the officers of the ship In a peculiarly naval way, the ward-room officers of the Wilmington manning the gig which car. ried him first to the Tran and later to Blako pier. As the Governor-Elect entered the gig the Chlef Baniswain's mate and four chlaf petly officers manned the side of the ship and when the gig' pulled away from the ship all hands on deck gave thies toning cheers. Ton compliment of being pulled ashoro by kis officers is the greatest a naval officer can bare when retiring.

This two days' match was started yesterday and wli be continued to-day. The United Services team was sent la fret and compiled 284 runs, of which L. Murray was responsible for 96 and Mr. Cooke for it. The Civillans put up 184 only in the first innings. The scoici and bowling analyses are as follows:-
