A Board of Trade inquiry was opened st Cardiff, on June 15, by Major Cooper Kay, Chial Inspector of Explosires, into the loss of the steamer Selworthy, which was soak after an explosion on board whilst on a voyaga from La Palmar: to: Sevilla: The Board of Trade, It was stated, looked upon the Inquiry av one of grave Importance.

Mr. Vacball, for the Board of Trade, said the explosion must have been caused by a high ex. plosive, and there must hare bean a consider. able quantity of it. Mr. Frederick Childs, mana ger of the Salworthy Steamship Company, which owned the votual, paid £8,300 for her, and she was

at Insored for £15,750 at Lloyd's.

LABOUR DISPOTES.
