WATKINS, LIMITED.
ANNUAL MERTING,
The eleventh ordinary annual mesting of shareholders in Meisri, Watkins, Limbed, for the purpose of presenting the report of the general managers and a statement of accounti for the year ended gist Disember, 1909, wür beld at the Company's office at noon, to-day. Mr. G. A. Watkins took the chair and others present were Messi, Chan A. Fook, A. R. Lowe and S. D.'Mobal.
Mr. Chao A., Fook having read the notice convening the meeting, the Chairman said :- Gentlemen, The report and accounts ara in your hands, and, with your permission, we will take them as read. We commenced the yaar with improved prospects and I am pleased to inform you that our volume of business tms been much larger than the previous year. In order to meet increased competition we had; however, to considerably reduce our prices all round and this, taken in conjunction with a lose of some: $1,000 in exchange, as against a proût of over 53,000 in 1908, accounts mainly for the smaller profi's shown. Nevertheless, your Directors have agreed to fulfil the pre- mise made at the apbuat meeting last year by declaring a dividend, which, we trast, will meet with your approval. Your property is written down to the lowest poruble figure that the Auditors would agree to. With regard to the stock-in-trade in particular, it is extensive, up-to-date and fresh, and evidently meets with public approval, if we may judge from the increated amount of business dyne,
With these remarks I beg to propare the adoption of the report and accounIVOS BICHIT ed. Before putting this to the vafe shall however, be pleased to answer any questions,
There were do, questions.
The Chairman Will any, shareholder pre- senf kindly second the serotation sow before the meeting?
Mr. Meḥil seconded the resolution, which was carried unanimously,
The Chairman -Dividend warçants will be ready on and after Thursday an application at this office; they will not be sent out, There being no furiber business before the meeting. I thank you, gentlemen, for your attendance,
