A telegram of the Ostasiatischer Lloyd states The German Chancellor, Dr. von Bethmass Hollweg, and Baron Schön, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, have expressed to the British Government the sympathy of the Ger- mau Government, on the death of King, Edward, through Sir William Goschen, the British Am- bastador in Berlin, and Count Wolf-Metternich, the German Ambassador in London. The German Emperor bas given up his intention of staying at Wiesbaden, and will presumably go to London. The festivities which are being prepared in Berlin for the reception of ex President Roosevelt, have been postponed. The Reichstag will give notice of public mourning- May 9. The Presidents of both Houses of the Prussian Diet beve' axpressed' in warm ad- dresses their sincere sympathy with the loss which has befallen the British reigning dyoasty, The whole German Fress pubiistes, most cordial appreciations of the late King, especially the official Holcknangciger The Norddeutich Allgemeine. Zeilung praises the statesmanlike activity of King Edward and the highly esteemed position" he has filed among the rulers of the world.
