This event brought out eleven competitors. It was the best of the day, 'It did not take Forbes long to overtake the limit man Sommers, on the 275 yards mark. He kept on catching up and in the filth lap bo was fourth, and when the following lap was approaching he overtook McCrae and Geo, Lee was coming up strong in the third place, "When the final lap was on, the race started between Forbes, McCrae and Lee 200 yards from the Gnish, Forbes was loading slightly from Lee, with Me Cras about 10 yards behind. The race foisted beautifully with Forbes the winner by half a wheel.

At the conclusion of the sports Mr. T.,E, Pearce said that that prize giving ceremony concluded the 13th annual fixture held in con nection with the V.R.C. It was said that 13 was a very uolucky number, but he thought they could all congratulate themselves on the fact that the weather had held out, and that they had been lucky instead of datacky. They bad witnessed, some very good running that afternoon, but he did not think there was any. thing which called tɔr special comment, excepi|| 4.30 p.m. perhaps the record time made by the winner of Brodmeon Opera Co', "The Dollar Princess," the hurdle race. He wished to congratulate 9 p.m. him, and be thought that 17 2/5secs, would remain a record for some time to come.
