Dalightful weather favoured the committee and members of the Victoria Recreation Club, on the occasion of their apoval regatta Inst Saturday afternoon. By courtesy of Mason, Gee: Fenwick and Co, Ld., their spacious réclama tion ground at North Pniet, Causeway Bay, was kindly placed at the disposal of the V.R.O., whose committes availed themselves of the excellent site to provide accommodatoin for the comfort of the visitor who sponta pleasant afternoon watching the various aveats, The Club's launch, gaily dressed for the occasion, left the Club slipway shortly after poon carrying a large contingent of members and officials of the Club. Arriving at Fenwick's reclamation, tiffia was served in the special stand that had been erected for the purpose and in which the committee and stewards entertained their guests. Another largs stand was erected on the wooden pier and from this point of ranlage, the spectators watched with keen laterest the close ñnishes provided in iba first two events of the afterenon's regatta. The attendance at first was not very large, but after the International: Race, the gathering in the grand stand was perceptibly increased and was considerably augmented after the airival of His Excellency the Governor who, accom pasied by Capt. The first race was timed to start at 1 p.m. -but-it-was soute little-time before the competing. boste lined up at the starting point. The delay was, however, inevitable, and the other evens on the programme suffered in point of time is
