* (6th November.) Some time ago the attention of the Sapi- tary Board was directed to the prevalence of malaria in the Colony, particularly among the garrison stationed at Lyemun. The subject was raised by the military member of the Board and it was decided that steps should be taken to reduce the illness caused to the troops by the adoption of additional sanitary measures. What result has accrued from these reforms has not yet beso stated, but it is to be hoped that the health of the men has improved so that their efficiency may not be affected.
