A CURIOUS ACTION.

STONES IN A QUARRY WERE MARKED WITH TAR.

Before Mr. Justica Gompertz in the Summary Court this morning, Yik Tai Kung Sze and the Sze Hing Tong brought an action against the Shun Li firm of rice dealers, of 14, Tomple Street, Yau ma-ti, to recover the sum of $152,50 an to 553.50 being the valgs of twenty-five blocks of granite damaged by the defendants - by painting.certain Chinese characters thereon in tar and the balance of $too for damages for uniawial trespass on the plaintiffs' premises and interference with their bu fosse.
