In the Summary Court, this morning, besóra Mr. Justice Gompertz Poisne Judge, a claim was brought for breach of contract by the Chan Ti Kes firm, contractors, of: 135, Den Vocax Road, against the Yu Hing Loong firm, timber dealers, of 920, Shanghai Street, Yan-mati, to recover the sum of $99250 as damages for breach of contract for sale by the defendants to the plaintiffs of a bardwood spar. There was counter-claim for $323.74, amount due to the defendants for the supply of one piece of hardwood timber to the plaintiffi

at the Wlog Chat powder magazine, situated at the back of the Five-storied Fagoda, in which
gunpowder has been stored since the disas- trous explosion in 1907, with the exception of a quantity of explosives which was seized by the Likio officials in the Wongaba Railway station a few days ago and was stored there tempora rily. The roof of the building was blown away and the walls completely destroyed almost down to the ground. No person was in charga of the magazine at the time of the accident, so 'no, lives were lost."
