Messrs. Lamke and Rogge write in their fortnightly circular of the 'ath instant:—

The freight market still continues in the same depressed state with only a few fixtures to report. Quly in Love - direction inquiry for tonnage is a little better than of late.

Saigon/Hongkong:-There has been no fix, tare to report in this direction, and rate has receded to 8 cents per picul.

Saigan/Philipplaes:A few charters have again taken place, but rates show a demaward tendency, we go home a

Java/Hongkong:-The local suger market is exceedingly firm. The fixture of two more boats indicates more tonnage will be required.

Newchwang/Canton:—A steamer has beet fixed on private terms,
