ADVENTURE. IN GIFU PREFECTURE.
Two women and a young girl who wero wan; dering about near a wood in Oso district, Gifu préfecture, on the 27th u timo, were suddenly pounced upon by a bear, said to be about seveD feet in length, which rushed out of the wood at their approach with a shrink they nitempled to escape, but the bear reached the elder of the women, knocked her down, nod bit her.
