THE REGENTS INQUIRY:
24By courtesy of the "Sheung Po"}
Peking, 29th July,
At an audience with the Prince Regent, His Imperial ligh eas mado
who tested Lammert but this lengthy keeper
was not "found wanting." Barros for the Blues showed good pace and swam clear way. His shot, however, failed in its objective. Cooke was the next to try and lower the Blues
colours but he was too closely attended by Carroll and failed. The teams were taking each other man for man, and tho play was of a very high order. A brief bạt stinging attack of the Blues was repelled and the Walter came down and took lodgments in V.R.C. waters when Lammon, in goal, was kept busy. He sent the G.Y.C. to the right about with a well placed pass to Barròs. The latter player took the ball - the whole length and had he passed to Carroll. when Chunyat came across, it is more than probable that a goal would have been registered but he essayed a shot on his own account which went high. The visiting team came again, but
-found the defence-too strong and Carroll'secar.
[s inquiries of Viceroy uan Fang cuning put in a long shot which gave Forbes some trouble to keep out, Hall time was then cerning the famine relief funds, when called, the score sheet being blank. This was Tuan Fang replied that the supervi- about a fair representation of the game and sion of the relief measures was in the each side up to this bad bad their share of the... hands of Im, Ng, and other members of the gentry

The Prince Regent acquiesces in his desire to retire from the Grand

and Cooke put in a stinging shot which Lammert, "the goalkeeper "dealt with very skilfully but, Daly at the expense of a career. This, however, brought the Bluesgrist to the mill of the C. Y. C.. Lammertthon gaveto Claxton who was fouled by- Witchell and the throw opened a strong attack. by the Blues, the ball ultimately coming to Car roll about three quarter way dowo the field and this player did not hesitate, but put in a long- tricky shot which brought, down the C.Y.C.'s colours, amidet roars of applauss.
It was some few seconds before the shouts
died away, and the two teams were again set
