INRAGED SHOEMAKER FATALLY. STĄ HS, COMPATRIOT,

Cases of murder are happily fow and far between in Hongkong, but one such instance, is now receiving the attention of the Police. It appears that at about 8 pm. on the 13th inst, a quarrel arose between Kwok Yau, a tboemaker residing at i, Arthor Street, and a coolie outside a house of ill-fame in Temple Street. During the altercation, the shoemaker is alleged to have produced a knife and stabbed the deceased just behind the hips, before the latter had time to ward off the blow. The unfortunate man was removed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries ihe same day. The case came on for hearing in the Folice Court, to-day," when the shoemaker appeared to auswer the capital charge. A plea of not guilty" was entered and the case, was remanded.
