The ordinary anaunt gonnial meeting of shareholders of the above Company was held at the registered office of the Company, Alexandra | Baildings, in the forenoon, last Saturday, for the purpose of receiving the report of the directors together with a statement of accounts for the year ending 30th April, 1909, Mr. John A. Japp, chairman of directors, was in the chair. Others present were Hon. Sir Paul Chater, C.M.G., Mr. S. Gubbay (directors), Messrs. D.E. Clark, C. B. Buyers, G. Rapp, J. M. Weng, and A. H. Ougb.

44.30 p.m.-TENT PEGGING IN SECTIONS OF THREE-Open to teams, moninted on China ponies, and composed of three man, representing any recognized unit or club in the Colony. Three small cups to be presented to the winning team at each com petition and at the conclusion of the monson a trophy will be given to the team which scores the highest aggregate of points all mostings included. A.COMPARISON WITH THE POWERS..

The Osaka Astái recently, had, an 'article in which a comparison is made between the strength of the Japaneis Navy and that of the navies of other Powers in the present as well; an in the faturs. ». The article is chiefly based on the contents of "The Navios of Japan and other Powers," by Captain Ogtiri, of the Japane ese Navy, in which naval matters are said to be very carefully and exhaustively treated, Japan' naval power at the time of the outbreak of the, war with Russia and as it exists at present is shown in the following tables:
