A claim to recover the sum of $35 (balance alleged to be due for goods sold and delivered) was brought in the Supreme Court, this morn ing, by the Tung Tak firm, grocers, 132, Des Vieux Road Cantral, against' Ho Soo, the boatswain of the steamer Fook Laig. There were no solicitors faterested in the case.
Chau Tong, the manager of the plaintiff firm, said that the defendant was indebted to his firm is the sum of $36 for provisions supplied to him personally. The defendant had dealings with him for nearly three years. The last time defendant was supplied with stuff was in August, 19:6,

Mr. Koag Sing said that he objected to the partnership book being taken as evidence. It was a book, he, saw, which contained rules governing the partners. This amounted to an agreement and, therefore, unless the book was chopped it was not admissible.
Mr. Dixon--I'sm "not pulling it on as an agreement. I want to prove the number, of partners and their tong names.'
Mr. Kong Bing-My friend has not provided me with a copy of the book. There might be only three translations made, but there are other things in that book which are not translated and I object is it going in.
It would appear form reports received that the two men met in a certain cinematograph "show" is the evening.
