Mr. Barley's Moriak earned the right to contest the Champions by conexing the Shangbai Stakes; in which he was opposed to Brockton, among othora. Is was generally considered that the race lay between those two ned so if turned out to be, but Moriak won in a canter, with his jockey looking rosad on the others, and Brockton filled second place, a length ahead of Sagittarius, whose final sun was a splendid one, as he had to come up from last, right round the field. Medfield was a hot favourite for the Pagoda Cup, with Kandahar Chief and Eim. Tres next in demand, but the' | first mentioned did not give his hackers much of a run for their money. Kandahar Chief landed the race, but only after a very determin. ed tusele with Double Zero, who went out with but few supporters. There was a set-back in the Llama Miau Stakes, whos Stirrup Cap got home is front of Myrtle Tree, for the former was bardly thought of in the beating, Myrtis Tree and Heathfield being the two most fancied, with Glorious Rose and Aniscus well sup ported. But Mr. Toeg's pouy ran exceptionally well, leaving the field when Mr. Hayes called on him and he won practically as he liked., In Can succeeding races favourites scored-
