Mr. JR. Wood (second police magistrate) granted a re-bearing; to-day of the case in which a coolie was sentenced to, six months hard labour on Monday for taking part in the riot, in which a shop at 145, Queen's Road Central, was looted.

Inspector Ritchie, who prosecuted, wave evidence to the effect that he saw defendant, in a crowd, rattling the door of the shop. The crowd was very excited, the inspector admitted, and when he was scan, the people made a dash to get away.

The inspector thought defendant was a ringleader.

The defendant-Leung Sun Tak- fish hawker in the Central Market; said that on Sunday evening he was sent out by his master to pay a bill. On his way back he met a friend named Cheung Chun. While walking along Queen's Road he saw a large crowd and went up to inquire what the trouble was about.
