pany has been awarded the contract for eight steel lighters for use by the Quartermaster's Department at Manila. The cost of the lighters will be $75,200, gold, and they are to be set up in Manila. According to the terms of the contract four of the lighters will be ready for delivery by December 15 and the remaining. four by February 15.

Pressure remalos low over Manchuria and the N. part of the Sea of Japan, and high over the Pacific in the neighbourhood of the Beniés. Modstate to fresh N.E. winds may be expected in the Formoss Channel and along
