In the House of Commons, Mr. R. Laid law, Liberal Member for Renfrewshire, ask ed Col. Seely, Under Secretary of State for the Colonics, if the Government would con- sider the question of refusing to continue licensed gambling in the Malay States after the present lease expires.
Col. Seely, in his reply, stated that, while the Government was desirous of ending the prosent system, any precipitate action was likely to do more harm than good.
