On the 17th at 11.55 -The barometer has. fallen considerably in E. Japan owing to the depression which is now moving' Eastwards over that aren.

Pressure has increased maderately to slight ly over W. Japan and the E, coast of China, and given way slightly in Tongking. It is bigbest over the S. part of the Chios Sex, and still low over S. Chion and Topgking.

Moderate S.E. winds may be expected in the Formosa Channel, asd fresh to strong mon soon over the China Sea.
