Father Spada and over thirty past papils, 'The spacious hall was crowded with present and pail pupils of the Institution who came to wish their departing teacher "Bon, voyage" and a speedy return. ?he programmas include ed the Deposition sce zu from Richard II, which received well-merited applause, thanks to the painstaking efforts of Bro. THE HONGKONG TELEGRAPH SATURDAY, JULY 11, 1908.
DEPARTURE OF BRO. STEPHEN, the praises I received are not personal, but for the whole college. Certainty, a good education is priceless gift to a young man, which he shows not by his success or failure in the "cal, examinations, but rather that he is able to take up a responsible position in the world hereafter, and that, all the young men have shown they are capable of. Consequently, they have shown that the education of the College is sound, and is up to the mark. It is a great pleasure for a teacher to find that his pupil are grateful for his services and certainly I have to congratulata myself on that point, because whenever I'meet them they certainly make me feel that they are grateful for the little that I have dous for them and this they show especially by their kind words and beautiful gift 10-night. I must thank the prosent boys alan for their kind words to me and hops that they will continue lo their Doble efforts to emulate the past pupils and to take the full advantage of the education they are receiving no to prepare themselves for the baule of life. I thank you all very heartily and believe me that in the future, wherever I may be, I will look back to Hoogkong and to the past and present bays with gratitude and with affaction, (Applause.)

It was certainly a tribu a that his Lordship paid to the excellent work done in the Callego. All were aware of the keen interest that His Lordship always showed io. St. Joseph's College of which his presence there that afternoon was a further proof. Bro, Christian then went on teapeak of the happy relations that existed between the past pupils and the College. They all had good positions in life owing to the sound education they had received and to the good use they had made of it, and he hoped that the present papils would make good use of their time now so that in after life ikey might be fit to occupy honour. able positions and be a credit to their Alma Mater.
