Telephones have been introduced into South Manchu in by the Japaness, and all the prin ipal, towas, have local systems, while long-distance telephones form a connection between the towns. Some idea of the amount of business transacted may be obtained from glancing at the figures showing the number of letters handled at the Tairen post-office. During the year ending March 31st last, 4,050,000 letters were received and 4,320,000 despatched, The number of registered lettera and packets received was 34,800, while 60,700 were despatched....
