Viscount Esher has administered a sharp

rebuke to the naval scaremongers who have been persistantly endeavoring to get up an agitation about the state of the navy. It seems that recently there has been formed a body which calls itself the Imperial Maritime League," and Lord Esher was invited to join the cousoil. He has omphatically declined the invitation, and in the following letter 10 Messrs. Wyatt and Horton-Smith, who are described as founders he gives his reasons with re freshing frankness:
