The fifth Saturday and Sunday which occur once a quarter are available for the Medhurst "Cup to be competed for at disappearing targets. Public holidays will also be allotted to this competition and the conditions and arrange- ments will be the same as for the China Mall Cup shot for in 1906,
These arrangements may be considered as fixtures for 1907 which will be adhered to un. less unforeseen circumstances arise, when notification will be issued to members.
THE NEW SERVICH BULLEI.
Within the last two years both France and Germany have adopted a new rifle bullet of
this sort. Both nations, from all accounts, 14th Aug, 1909,
appear quite satisfied with the results obtained; and, there reason to believe the pointed PRINZ WALDEMAR ' .......................) THURSDAY,

armies. Taking the German "Spitzen" or "B" bullet as & type, it appears that the calibre is the same as that of the original projectila of the service rifle, and like it bas a leaden core with a nickel 'steel mantia ball a millimetre thies; but its total length had been cut down from 31 to 28 mm, and it consists of a base which is cylindrical, with a conical tip: the weight is reduced proportionately, &c., from 14.9 to 10 grammes.
