The indictments were read out as follows:

i. That Francis Ward then being a public servant, to wit, a Sanitary Inspector, did un- lawfully accept from one Chan, Tsun a bribe. To wit, the sum of $30, with a view to influence his conduct as such public servant in relatipa to a latrine at No, a Gough Street, on the 7th day of December, 1914, at Victorin in this Colony.
