RUSSIA'S NEW SHIPS.

TYPES WHICH WILL COMPRISE THE -REORGANIZED FLEET.

The new Navy Annual has the following to say about Russia'i new ships -

The new programme. recently sanctioned by the Crar, and to be spread over a term of nipa years, comprises 12 battleships, 46 destroyers, 18 torpedo boats, to submarines, 7 gunboats,” and mining ship.

The Andrei Pervcranny! was inunched at Galemy Island on May 12, 1915. Thesister ship, the Pavel Z, in building at the Baltic Yard, St. Petersburg: Displacement, 16,630 tons: I. 'T'. P. 18,000 speed 18 knots. The armament comprises Jour 12 in, twelve 8-in. guos, twenty rz-pdrs, and twenty-six smaller Q-F. guar, with six torpedo-tubes. Protection is afforded by a water line belt 11 in. thick amidships, 'tapering to 6 in, at the ends. The side armour is carried up to the main deck from the top to the after surret, The 12 in. guns are mounted, as usual, in pairs protected by 12 in. armour, the forward' lurret

The maximum thickness of the belt line is 9-in. and of si ̧u armoured deck 3-in. The main armament is purrected by ro-in, and- the auxiliary armament by 5 in. armour. The normal coal supply is 7.0 tons, and the maximum 1,400 lans.

The armoured cruiser Rurik is being built by Messrs. Vickers Sons and Maxim at Barrow, and the following are her characteristics: Displacement 15,000 tons; length, 590 ft.; beam,.75 it; draught, 26 ft; armament, four 10 in, eight B-ja, twenty 4 7-in, fourteen smaller guns; torpedo lubes two submerged; "19,700 1. H. F.; speed 18 knots. Messrs. Vickers are, makers of the engines and boilers, which are of the Belleville type. Enormous increase of weight of defensive material is understand to have been introduced into this ship, in view of the lesson learned from the Russo-Japanese

·war. Bolt, 6' in.; 4.10, and 3'in, aldes, 3′′ in.+--- bulkheads, 3 in., gun position 8 in. 7 in.; decks, lo, to x in.; coul capacity 1,200 tonx normal, 7,000, maximum; complement, 800.

The smaller armoured Admiral Maharoj, of the original Zayan class, is building by the Forges et Chantiers de la Mediterranee at La Seyne: Displacement, 7,950 lone, with... mennec draught of 21 ft, length 443 ft, boam, 57 ft. 3 in. Armament, two 8 in. turrets, eight 6-in. in redoubt, twenty 12-påes, four 6-pdrs, zwo sub-- merged torpedo tubes. Engines of 16,500 1. H.P., and Belleville boilers with economisers; speed 21 knots. The Bayon and Falladu, of the same class, afe to be built at the New Admiral- ́ ty Yard, St. Petersburg.

The second-cruiser Don has a length of 503) ic, beam, 57 ft., maximum draught,, 291 ft4. 14,000 1.1.P., fall trial speed, 19 knots. The torpedo gunboats Vradnik and Guldamab (sba toni) ware launched in 1905.„;-
