It is not supposed that one of your leading industries in Kowloon will be threatened by the factory which is about to be put up here in Canton for the manufacture of Partland cement. But the Chindie capital will make a bold bid to be independent of the Hongkong supply for its requirements in co ment in future. As a first step towards setting up the factory, a paddy field in Fong Cha Yuen at Honam has been selected, and bought for the erection of the Canton Cement Works. A
