The following day Amoy accepted a challenge from H.M.S. Alacrity and made a very poor show against this vessel. The scares were Alacrity 110 runs; Amoy sa uns. Commander Leatham for the Alacrity played a cheerful innings and bit the bowling all over the field and obtained all his runs by boundaries.
