Mr. Leake said in that case he opposed the resolution, He was sorry he was not present at the ordinary meeting as he would have. apposed it then. He thought the shareholders' should have another opportunity of passing an opinion on the sale of their property. Although he had no doubt of the ability of the directors for a moment he thought the matter should not be taken out of the shareholders' control and that they should have a chance of confirming what the directors proposed to do. There was a second point he wished to refer to. This re- solution meant, he took it, the winding up of the company, and he thought that the resolu tion should be in the form of an extraordinary resolution. The meeting was called extra- ordinary meeting, but the resolution was not an extraordinary resolution. If it was in the form of aq extraordinary resolution it meant that it had to be passed by a certain majority of the shareholders.
