HONGKONG METEOROLOGICAL
SIGNALS.
A NEW CODE,
We have received from the Hongkong Observatory new code of meteorological signals which comes into force at Hongkong on New Year's Day. They are the sama us 'those at present in use at Shanghal, and will be hoisted on the mast beside the time-ball at Kowloon Point for the information of masters of vessels leaving the port, They do not neces sarily imply that bad weather is expected. The signals are as follows:-
A cose point upwards indicates a typhoon to the North of the Colony.
