Viscount Tanaka, Minister of the Imperial Ilousehold, Count Toda, Grand Master of Ceremonies, and other officials followed, an- other detachment of cavalry bringing up the rear. All along the route the procession was. most enthusiastically received:

As his Majesty passed through the great ex hibition of guns and other war trophier, Major- General Oshiage, Director of the Ordnance. Trade Mark No. 3 consists of a label of 3 panels placed side by side. The centre panel is narrower than the others and in use contains wording descriptive of the goods. The left hand panel contains in the middle, within circle, the representation of a hird perched non a projecting branch of a bamboo which is represented as extending from the top to the hottom of the panel. In the upper part is the distinctive word "Bambog "and, in the lower part upon a band the name "British Cigarette C. Ltd." The right hand panel contains the representation of a bamboo extending upwards un either side. In the middle is a shield bear the word "Bamboo" and at the bottom the representation of a Chinese building with a band at the boutons bearing the nameTM" British Cigarette Co., Ltd.";

The troops mustered on the parade-ground' consisted of the full strength. of the imperial Guard and of the First or Tokyo Army Divi- sion. Companies, each representing an infan- try regiment from the Second to the Twelfth Divisions, Commanders and Staffs from the Thirteenth to the Sixteenth Divisions, and the Commander and Staff of the Koriles garrison, were also on the field. In addition, there were the colours of 102 reserve infantry regiments (now disbanded), each flag being attended by sixteen soldiers, and numerous representatives of the Cavalry, Artillery and Engineers of the varioue Divisions were also in attendance. The Commanders aud Staff of the First, Second, Third and Fourth Army Corps in Manchuria, and of the Yalu Army Corps, representatives of the Formosan, Korean, and Kwantung garri sions, together with the Commander-in-Chief and Chief of Staff, brought the total muster up to 1,134 'officers and 20,079 rank and file-a grand total of 31,203.

Just before ten o'clock his Majesty the Em- peror, followed by the Imperial Princes and Princesses drove on to the parade-ground, and the march past commenced at ten am. A balloon was sent up by the Military Balloon Corps of the Field Telegraph Battalion, and Ensign Ito, who ascended in the car, took a number of photographs of the various stages of the review. Upon the conclusion of the march. past his Majesty took his seat upon the Throne, round which assembled Marshal Oyama and the Commanders of Divisions and their Staffs, The band played the "Kimigayo,"
