Wise, Paisne Judge, the much disputed and many times adjourned case in which Ma Chin and Li Cheong sue the Kwong Ying Lung firm for recovery of the sum of $103.8 being the balance of a sum due for work done and material supplied by the plaintiffs for the defendants, was again called

Mr. R. Gardiner, of Mr. Q, D. Thomson's office, appeared for the plaintiffs and Mr. K. Harding, of Messrs. Ewens, Herston and Har. ding, for the defendant.

This was the case in which the defendant claimed payment in kind (uice supplied). Plain tiff admitted receipt of rice, but gave no receipt.

Ceylon Education Bill-Colonial Ofles View.

Landon, rzih April. Mr. Winston Churchill has made a detailed statement in the House of Commous, regardi ing the Education Ordinance now before the Ceylon legislature.

He added that further legislation was under contemplation, but there was no indication that- the planters failed to recognize their respon- sibilities towards the children of the island, in this respect.

The matter, however, was being 'vigilantly watched by the Colonial Office.
