the present have not been remunera ive, and Rajaburi, and Lu.. Rice and Wood.-
It would not do for prosaters of automobile companies to base their calculations on prices ruling wholesale for the last few months, since these have been made unnecessarily low by competitors seeking to force a combination. The credit of first transporting benzine in bulk. due entirely to the courage and enterprise of this company. Up to the present time we have been so fully engaged with the develop ment of production and construction of se finetics that have not been able to give sufficient time to the preparation of by-pro- ducts of which our crude oil is capable. It contains a very large proportion of 'paraffin, and we are now maturing plans for the erections of a plant for treating this. At the same time find that we can make a valuable quality
DM
of batching oil, solar oil, and lubricating oils, and we shall not be satisfied -until we have done this.
We have spent out, of earnings during the last two years already chre on £30,000 in Bornen, the result being that, early in next year, we shall be able to treat 12,000 tons of crude oil per week, which, if wa choose, wiil give us between soco and 6,000 tons a week of kerosene, Liquid fuel is a large item, bu the consumption has so far not kept pace with the production, in spite of the fact that wo are able to offer to consumers in the East a material saying at compared with coal. This is only another instance of the very great dif ficulty that pioneers find in intra uc ng new ericles, Had it not been for the energy and determination shown by us, liquid fuel cer tainly would not have assumed the place in practical use that it now has. In view of our position warranting as in guaranteeing sup plies to would-be consumers in a fashion which was not practicable to us before we were so thoroughly convinced of the wealth of our terr lory, I anticipate that the demand will very soon equal the supply.
