All the tramway companies suspended their traffic during the evening, and the electric lights on the different lines were not lit, except in the vicinity of the park. The city was not only quiet but desen-9.30 AM. ed, except by the so diers and police.

The only demonstration that occurred took place at the K jimachi Police Station. Some 30 meg armed with drawn swords and clubs attacked the station, but were instantly dis-
