NOTICE is hereby given that two BEA.

CONS will shortly be placed to, mak the Northern edge of the Channel now being dredged across the TAISHEK BARRIER, As soon as this area has been cleared to. a depth of to feet at Low Water of Spring Tides, the dredger will commence work in the chan- nel now used by shipping, and vassals will then be required to use the new... channel ; which, will be marked as follows:——

Two Beacons each bearing a Red shape and showing a Red light by night will mark

the Northern edge of the channel.

No. 1 DOCK.

Length inside, 514 ft. Width of entrance, top 05 ft.; bottom 75 ft. Water on blooks, 27.5 ft. Time to pump out, 4 hours.

No. 2 DOCK. Length inside, 875 ft. Width of entrance, top 60.5 ft.; bottom 45.8 ft. Water on blooks, 26.5 ft. Time to pump out, 2 hours.

THESE DOCKS are conveniently situated in Yokohama barbour and the attention of Captains and Engineers is respectfully called to the advantages offered for Dock ing and repairing Vessels and Machinery of every description.

The plant and tools are of recent patterns for dealing quickly and cheaply with wor and a large stock of material is always at hand, (plates and angles all being tested, Lloyds' survegan).

Two powerful Twin Screw Towboats are available for taking Vessels in or out |Dock, and for taking Sailing Vessels in or out of the bay. The floating derrick is ca

of lifting 35 tons.

Steam Launcher of Steel or Wood, Lighters, Steel Buildings and Roofs, Work, and all kinds of Machinery are made on the premises.

Tenders will be made up when required and the workmanship and materi guaranteed.
